What Is the Ultra-Fine Foaming Process for Work Gloves?

Manufacturing Flow of the Ultra-Fine Foaming Process for Work Gloves

The ultra-fine foaming process is as follows:

  1. Prepare impregnation materials:
    There are two main types of impregnation materials:
    Impregnation materials for coatings and foaming impregnation materials. The former is typically based on nitrile or natural rubber, with specific additives included to meet protective requirements. The latter consists primarily of foaming agents and stabilizers.
  2. Dip-curing solution:
    Place the knitted glove liner over the mold. Then immerse the glove in the dip-curing solution. During this process, mixtures such as calcium chloride, zinc chloride, and calcium nitrate can be added as curing agents. This step controls the penetration of the latex solution into the coatings and lays the foundation for subsequent foaming.
  3. Immersion in rubber solution:
    First, heat the glove mold in an environment of 65–80°C. This stabilizes the foam structure and improves film formation efficiency. After heating, immerse the mold in the rubber solution.
  4. Glove Surface Treatment:
    Apply a foam layer over the rubber coatings. During this process, cleaning agents such as electrolytes may be used. This improves surface tension, resulting in more uniform foam distribution and thickness.
  5. Vulcanization:
    This process creates microscopic foam pores. Heating and vulcanization stabilize the coatings. Specific temperatures and heating durations must be adjusted according to the formulation.
  6. Water rinsing:
    Rinse with clean water at 30–45°C to remove chemical residues from the glove surface. This also effectively reduces any odor in the gloves.
  7. Vulcanization and drying:
    Conduct vulcanization and drying at high temperatures of 100–125°C. This step further enhances the gloves’ elasticity and abrasion resistance.
