Custom Coatings and Surfaces for Gloves

M-tide offers modular coating and color customization.

The coating is the core of a glove’s protective performance. It affects the glove’s grip strength, abrasion resistance, oil resistance, and waterproofing. It also determines the glove’s wearing comfort and appearance.

With over 10 years of coating experience, we provide customized coatings. We tailor them to fit various needs, like color, material, and process. This ensures your gloves deliver both protection and aesthetics.

Coating Color

We provide full-color options for glove coatings. This includes standard colors, safety warning colors, and custom shades. Color Selection Recommendations:

  • In low-light environments, opt for highly visible colors such as fluorescent yellow or red.
  • For construction or machining settings, choose black or gray for superior dirt resistance.
  • For food processing, use food-grade blue coating. It helps stop glove particles from contaminating food.
  • Colors can represent job roles, task types, or work crews. This helps avoid confusion and makes sure protective performance matches real risks.

Note: Actual colors may vary slightly from samples.

Surface Treatment

Frosted

The sandblasting process creates a fine, granular texture on the glove surface. This matte finish enhances the glove’s friction coefficient.

Often combined with a nitrile foam structure, it further improves the glove’s grip when handling oily or slippery metal parts.

Suitable for scenarios such as machining, auto repair work, and handling oily components.

Smooth Surface

The smooth surface finish relies on a few key factors: the roughness of the hand mold, the adhesive formulation, and the curing process. Compared to sandy/foamed surfaces, smooth surfaces are easier to clean and less prone to attracting dust, water stains, or residue.

They have less surface friction, making them better for tasks that need frequent gripping. This offers more convenience.

Suitable for: Sorting and bagging in seafood processing and food packaging.

Wrinkling

The Crinkle process creates irregular three-dimensional wrinkles on the glove surface. This increases contact area for effective slip resistance. It is primarily applied to critical grip areas like the palm.

The Crinkle process is often combined with latex or nitrile coatings to enhance grip in wet conditions.

Performance in low-temperature environments depends largely on the coating material. Cracking susceptibility must be assessed based on material type.

Suitable for outdoor construction, cold chain handling, and similar applications.

Coating Process

Single Coating

A single coating undergoes one dip process followed by drying. The glove features a thin, lightweight coating that offers flexibility. Ideal for precise handling tasks.

Suitable for jobs requiring high dexterity, such as electronics assembly and food processing. Available coating options:

  • Palm dip / Full dip / 3/4 dip
  • Coating thickness
  • Foam / Textured / Sandy finishes

double coating

Two impregnations are required. After the first impregnation, drying, and cooling, proceed with the second impregnation. This greatly boosts the gloves’ protection from physical and chemical hazards. It also makes them resistant to abrasion and waterproof.

Suitable for tasks requiring heavy-duty protection, such as chemical production, construction work, oily environments, and contact with cleaning agents.

Ultra-fine Foam Coating

It uses special foaming technology. This creates a tight web of tiny pores in the coating. This makes the gloves soft and snug. They won’t limit hand movement.

In greasy or wet conditions, micro-pores push out liquids. This keeps the contact surface area at its best. Grip strength is further enhanced.

Simultaneously, it improves the gloves’ slip resistance and breathability. Ideal for scenarios requiring precise handling or exposure to greasy, wet environments.
